France defeat South Africa 4:3 in an Olympic thriller this Sunday morning, with Andre-Pierre Gignac becoming the only player in the match to score hat trick. France bounced back from 4:1 loss against Mexico and South Africa coming from 1:0 loss against Japan in their olympic opener on thursday. Both France and South Africa came to an encounter with no points after their losses, while Mexico and Japan are both on three ponts as they will meet later today. French are fortunate to be alive in the competition as captain Andre-Pierre Gignac and his teammates put the team's hopes and dreams of the 2020 Olympics high. There was drama in the Brazilian clash against Argentina on sunday evening in the world cup qualifiers, as the match was stopped after Brazilian health officials came into the pitch in less than 4th minutes of the game and tried to detain four Argentina players-Emiliano Martinez, Emiliano Buendia, Christian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso. The health officials entered the pitch accompanied by the police officials to keep these players out of the pitch claiming that they allegedly lied on documents they filled on entry to the Brazil country. Since the players were from UK, they had to go for isolation as the Brazilian rules state that any person entering their country having recently been in UK must observe a period of 14 days in isolation. After the scandalous scenes, the Argentina squad that included Captain Lionel Messi went off the pitch, returning to the dressing room, while Brazil team stayed on the pitch.
Kaizer Chiefs have been busy in the transfer market for the DSTV premiership season that will start on the 20th August 2021. There have been number of new players coming to Chiefs this month as well as out going players. Amakhosi have signed Cole Alexander, keegan Dolly, Sifiso Hlanti, Phathutshedzo Nange, Njabulo Ncobo, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Kgaohelo Sekgota and Thabani Dube. The club had also extended contracts of senior players namely Itumeleng Khune, Khama Billiat, Bernad Parker, Lebohang Manyama and Ramahlwe Mphahlele. However, Chiefs has confirmed outgoing players including Willard Katsande, Khotso Moleko, Philani Zulu, Lazarous Kambole, Yagan Sasman, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya as well as Brylon Peterson.
