Orlando Pirates could potentially be ruled out of the 2022 CAF Confederations competition.

Kaizer chiefs could knock Orlando Pirates out of CAF Confederations Cup competiton next year if they defeat Egyptian Giants Al Ahly this weekend following their dream on making history in the world of South African Football by fighting to win CAF Champions league for the first time.

Orlando Pirates confirmed their place in the CAF Confederations Competiton when they finished third in 2020/2021 DSTV premiership after 0:0 against TTM in their last m league match.

However, based on the latest rules of the Confederation of Africn Football, rule no.4 in \" Engagements\" Section 5, no association will be allowed to engage more than two clubs within the CAF confederations Cup.

Should Chiefs ever win the CAF Champions league finals, it will automatically be in the 2022 CAF champions to defend their title, accompanied by Mamelodi Sundowns as they are 2021 South African league champions.

In that case, Orlando Pirates will be ruled out of the 2022 CAF Confederations competition as the association will be allowed to engage two teams in CAF champions and other two teams in CAF Confederations Cup namely Amazulu that was placed second in DSTV premiership following TTM that remains the 2021 Nedbank Cup champioms, Chiefs and Sundowns inclusively.

This could happen only if Chiefs beat Pitso Mosimane\"s side on the 17th June 2021.
